Book Preview: "The Sacrament of Conception"
A devout young couple is prompted by Providence to conceive a child on holy ground. They comply wholeheartedly, having carefree, scorching sex together while deepening their intimacy in unforeseen ways.
But then they are summoned overseas to complete the ritual which, upon disclosure of its shocking continuation, they realize reaches far deeper than what they had initially committed to. Somber revelations and mortal danger shall test their resolve to carry through an ordeal that threatens their very lives and faith.
Will they carry out their mission and return home unscathed? Find out through the account of their peripetias, imbued with overlooked exoticism, spicy sensuality, irreverent prosody, and ontological shock, as they journey across the Old Continent to uncover the mystery of their origins, rooted beneath shrouds of biblical proportions.
EXCERPT
I wake up from a most vivid dream.
Yet the most wonderful dream I've ever had lies right next to me. She must be awake, since she breathes heavier, and the sun rays warm her face. She shows me her back and rests motionless, knowing I like to wake her up. I brush her long, golden, wavy hair, expose the smooth, pale skin of her neck, and kiss it softly. She won't move yet. I then grant my lips to ride the ridge that begins at her temple, to halt at her cheek, her neck, her shoulder. She giggles, then rolls on her back, beaming at me. I cannot resist smiling back.
Every morning I thank Heaven for granting me such a beautiful wife. I love her most when she wakes up in the morning at my side, facing the ceiling, as innocent and helpless as a lamb. I am a man, and I fall for her charms as surely as for her smile. Every morning we wake up together, I picture her nude through the blankets and her chemise, then trace her curves with my eyes, my fingers, my palms. She's an angel. Not even from majestic heights have I contemplated such beauty; sometimes I wonder why I keep seeking at the confines of the Earth what lies within my arm's reach.
