EXCERPT

The steady beat of horses' heavy hooves pranced down the cobblestone street. "Clippety-Clop! Clippety-Clop! Hold your head up high. Don't let it drop." The herd chanted.

Stubby, an orphaned donkey colt, scurried to catch up.

"Stubby, stop looking at your hooves!" Sly the stallion snorted. "You will never reach your Divine destiny unless you change your posture."

Stubby cranked his neck up as high as he could. Suddenly, his hooves tangled together and he crashed to the ground. He felt dazed. He shook his head and wailed, "Aww, Sly, what's the use? Maybe I don't have a Divine destiny."

"You can still improve your station in life by taking a few lessons from me." Sly said as he tossed his head in the air. "Now, let's start from the beginning. Ready? Head up. Hooves high. Forward. March. Hup, two, three, four! Hup, two, three, four!"

Stubby stiffened his spine and strained to stretch his neck. He winced. "A cramp! Help! I'm getting a cramp in my neck. Owwwww!"
